1999 GMC Envoy
Combine the luxury of a passenger car, the sporty feel of an SUV, and the power
of a truck, that's what the 1999 GMC Envoy is. Though it was only introduced in
1998, GMC upgraded the Envoy to make it more competitive. It has a lot of new
features to offer that can match and even surpass the qualities of its competitors.
The 1999 GMC Envoy has the power and practicality of a truck. It is equipped
with the powerful 4.3 liter V6 Vortec engine that produces 190 hp and 250 lb-ft
of torque and can tow a load of up to 5000 lbs. It is equipped with a 4-speed
automatic transmission with overdrive and tow/haul mode that reduces shifting
when hauling heavier loads. Also a new standard feature is the Auto Trac 4WD that
automatically engages the al-wheel drive system whenever rear wheel spinning is
detected.
Designed as a sport-utility vehicle, the Envoy is equipped with equipments that
would give it a sporty look and feel. For 1999, it is equipped with a new headlight
cluster, each composed of a circular amber parking light, and elliptical halogen
high beam, a highly elliptical high intensity discharge (HID) low beam, and a
sidemarker light. It also got a better suspension and handling capability. Furthermore,
it is equipped with standard four-wheel disc brakes and ABS brakes to make it
safer to drive.
Aside from power and sporty features, the 1999 GMC Envoy also comes luxuriously
with a lot of standard features that can make every drive comfortable. Interior
luxuries start with the two-tone leather seats whose trim also applies to the
steering wheel and the shift lever. Standard safety features like the dual front
airbags are also present. Other features would offer further conveniences like
the power seats, Bose audio system, and the optional OnStar Communication System
that uses the Global Positioning System.
