2004 GMC Envoy
New interiors and a brand new model have been added by the GM Corporation to
the GMC Envoy line of mid-size SUV for the year 2004. Aside from the standard
luxuries it already has, new features and optional amenities were added for the
year 2004. The variant lien-up is also expanded with the introduction of the innovative
and cleverly engineered GMC Envoy XUV.
The GMC Envoy continues to be available in two body sizes, regular and extra-long
(XL). Both versions are available in four trims that range from the base SLE model
to the fully equipped SLT 4WD trim. The regular model can seat up to five passengers
while the XL model can accommodate seven. The new XUV has the body of the regular
model but offers a lot of innovative features that will surely amaze you.
All variants of the 2004 GMC Envoy is equipped with the Vortec 4200 Inline 6-cylinder
engine that produces 275 hp of power and 275 lb-ft of torque. The optional Vortec
5300 V8 engine is available for the XL and XUV variants. Equipping the Envoy with
this engine can pump up its power production to 290 hp and tow up to 7,200 lbs
of load. All models are equipped with the 4-speed automatic transmission and the
4WD models has the AutoTrac system that can shift the drive from 2-wheel to 4-wheel
whenever necessary.
New features for the 2004 GMC Envoy includes the heating, ventilation and air
conditioning (HVAC) system that provides dual-zone climate control, the optional
XM Satellite radio, the 175 Series AM/FM radio, and the optional rear DVD entertainment
system. The XUV variant comes further equipped with new and innovative features
like power-sliding rear roof, Next Generation Midgate, dual-function drop or swing
tailgate, and an all-weather cargo area.
