GMC Envoy Recall
Recalls are issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
whenever a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment does not comply
with a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard or when there is a safety-related
defect found in a vehicle or vehicle equipment. Recalls are issued so that the
vehicle manufacturers can address and remedy the problems found on their car and
prevent any untoward incidents from happening.
Since it was introduced in 1998, the GMC Envoy has incurred a number of recalls
from the NHTSA. Subjects of these recalls usually include components like the
daytime running lights and the console cover/armrest cam latch, which were the
usual defective components up to the year 2001. It has also received a total of
thirteen recalls in 2002 with defective parts coming from all over the vehicle
like the fuel storage system, seatbelts, suspension, and other parts.
The list and the details of these GMC Envoy recalls can be found on the NHTSA
website. These documents contain the summary of the complaint, the defective parts,
the consequences of the defects, and the remedy that must be made by the manufacturer.
These recalls would be helpful for the GM Corporation so that these defects would
be resolved in their future models.
